World Rhino Day at the Detroit Zoo

We’re honoring these majestic — and threatened — animals at the southern white rhinoceros habitat, home to Tamba and Jasiri. Discover fun facts about this species — including that a rhino’s horn is made of keratin fibers, the same material found in the human hair and nails — and learn how the illegal trade of wildlife products is hurting these animals in the wild.
