CPL Music Fest

Sing, dance and play along with four diverse performances—there’s something for every music fan.

Music fills our days with joy and provides a soundtrack to our lives. Celebrating music together is a great way to meet your neighbors and build community. Our fifth annual event is free to attend and open to all ages. This year, we'll have:

 

10:00 AM, Kevin Devine, an award-winning children's entertainer, songwriter and recording artist will keep kids and families singing and dancing.

11:30 AM, Sangeeta's Dance & Music of India : Sangeeta Kar is an internationally renowned exponent of Odissi, the oldest classical dance form of India, will practice her motto "education through entertainment."

12:30-1:45 PM, Family craft session: the Friends' Activity Room Bring your own packed lunch and do some crafting before the next musical performance.

2:00 PM, Detroit Steam Pistol (a.k.a. Free2B): These four creative artists join together to to put their take on classic songs from decades ago to bring audiences peace, love and joy.

4:00 PM, Il Segreto String Quartet, Detroit's "progressively motivated contemporary string quartet" are classically trained but play everything from Bach to Sonic Youth.
