Fall Drawing 101 - The Art of Seeing (4 weeks)

Welcome to a world of creativity and self-expression! This class is a journey designed to enhance your drawing skills while encouraging you to discover and develop your unique style. Making art is a powerful way to take control of your creative choices, allowing you to draw realistically without being confined by it.

Sasha, our artist and educator, believes that if you can write your name in cursive, you can draw! So grab a pencil or charcoal, and let's dive in! Learning to draw encourages us to slow down and truly see the world around us, helping us appreciate its beauty and express ourselves more fully.

Drawing immerses us in the present moment, allowing us to enter a state of flow that liberates us from mental constraints. It teaches us to notice the extraordinary beauty in ordinary things and helps us discover our inner voice, which is essential for developing our individual artistic style.

Throughout this course, you'll learn various artistic techniques, including line, form, and shading, while engaging in authentic self-expression. You’ll improve your art skills and knowledge by learning to draw what you actually see rather than what you think you see. We will focus on techniques that tap into your intuition, including engaging methods from "drawing on the right side of the brain."

This warm and non-competitive class is designed for adults and teens aged 15 and up. You will learn the fundamentals of drawing and how to express yourself fully, experiencing the freedom and joy of your inner creativity! All art materials are provided for the first session; you’ll just need your creativity and imagination. The instructor will advise on what paper and pencils to purchase for future classes.
