1st – 3rd Graders: Toy Adventures
Dec. 28 – No Batteries Required: Discover antique toys as you build and create your own toy.
Dec. 29 – Circuit Play: Explore toys that need electricity by designing and creating your own light up jewelry.
Dec. 30 – Brain Games: Learn how optical illusions work and get your mind moving with some brain games.
Dec. 31 – Playful Mistakes: Did you know silly putty was made by mistake? Make your own silly putty and experiment with fun accidents!
4th – 8th Graders: You Build It! You Keep It!
Learn about simple and complex machines in this four-day workshop. Discover how gears, levers, wheels and axels are integrated in the design and function of a bicycle.
With assistance from Back Alley Bikes and Detroit Eastside Community Collaborative, each participant will build and keep a refurbished bike.
Participants must attend all four days and give a good effort in order to receive a bike!
Both camps include exploration time in our exhibits, plus Toytopia, live shows, and an IMAX®, planetarium, or featured presentation along with hands-on activities.
