MiPAC is a four-week summer music camp designed to serve ALL young musicians ages 10-18. Whether preparing for a career in music - or a life with music - the Michigan Performing Arts Camp is a place to have musical fun en route!

What makes our camp stand out is the FREEDOM we give our campers. MiPACers can choose to focus on one instrument - or to play a different one in every ensemble. They may stick to one musical genre - or try out every style that we offer. There's no added cost to experiment with new things, no penalty for indulging your curiosity. Your only limit is the number of hours in a day!

MiPAC participants can choose from over 30 ensembles and classes. They can expect to perform in virtually all of MiPAC's 25 public concerts. Every group performs every week, playing different music each time. In addition, we have our one-of-a-kind "Kitchen Sink Recital," an opportunity for every MiPAC participant to perform ANYTHING. It may be music, original songs, a scene from a play (or an original one!), vaudeville, magic, dance, interpretive martial arts - whatever!

We have all traditional music camp offerings, including four orchestras, three bands, four choirs, two jazz ensembles, and multiple small combos and chamber ensembles. MiPAC also offers an entire program in NEW MUSIC, in which campers learn to create their own musical works. We have classes in Songwriting, Beginning and Advanced Composition, and most exciting is our NEW MUSICAL WORKSHOP. In just two weeks, campers produce their own original one-act musical, and perform a staged reading every other Saturday.

MiPAC's instructors are selected from among the country's top music schools and conservatories. We also have weekly Visiting Artists, representing the finest professional musicians in the world, who come to MiPAC to give our kids free masterclasses and concerts.
