Spring Break Virual Language Enrichment Camp

This interactive language enrichment class will cover vocabulary development, oral expression, and language comprehension through literacy. This class is structured in 30-minute increments spread across 5 consecutive days during the week of 4/18-4/22. My teaching style is student-centered that contains interactive and engaging content using a platform called NearPod. There will be a story read-aloud, slides, writing, arts and crafts project, and discussions. Your child will have opportunities to share their thoughts verbally and in written form. Weekly class breakdown below:
Day 1- Listening Comprehension & Vocabulary Development:
•Vocabulary Introduction,
•A brief discussion about things we see in the picture, and where this story is taking place •Story Read a loud and
•Listen to a song about the story
Day 2- Vocabulary Development:
•Review Vocabulary,
•Formulate sentences using target words with support (visual and/or imitate) and
•Practice writing sentences.
Day 3- Story Elements & Wh-questions:
• Story retell with visual supports incorporating temporal vocabulary “First”, “Next”, “Then”
and “Last” while incorporating some targeted vocabulary and
•listing details within their sentences

Day 4-Oral Expression:
•Complete Feelings Activity (Once registered, I will email you a worksheet that we will be using for this activity).
•Begin Pout Pout Fish Arts and Crafts Activity (Once registered, I will email you materials listed need for your child to complete this activity).
Day 5- Discussion:
•Finish Pout Pout Fish Arts and Crafts Activity
•Your child will engage with other children in the class by initiating conversational skill elements (asking questions about the story. For example, what their favorite part of the
the story was.
• Your child will also practice using the sentence starters.
•There is also a Book Review graphic organizer where students can also draw a
